This fast growing small tree adds year round interest to native gardens, shelter plantings, and landscape projects while retaining the toughness and adaptability of the species. In late spring and early summer, clusters of fragrant white star shaped flowers appear, followed by small dark berries that attract native birds. It grows well in full sun to partial shade and thrives in fertile, well drained soils with regular moisture.
