Description
Aciphylla aurea is a robust yellowish-green-golden large spiky plant which forms clumps with a tall robust very spiky flower head which can remain for up to 2 years. Fruits appear January-February. It is a coloniser of arid windswept, cold dry grassland and tussock areas and can withstand temperatures down to -17º C. Very robust tufted yellowish-green herb to 1.5 m tall when in flower.
Perfect as an exclusion zone planting.
Outdoor grown in South Canterbury’s harsh conditions.
