Lynda
My wife and right hand. Keeps the brakes on and tries to stop me doing anything too silly.
Scott
Scott is our only Full Timer. Scott gained his experience of plants through a work trust specializing in Horticulture. Scott takes on many of the responsibilities associated with the day to day running of the Nursery.
Dispatch is important and this is Scotts first priority each day.
Nursery maintenance, pricking out and propagation are his other work areas.
Robert
Robert is our only formally trained Horticulturist. He has worked in Botanical Gardens in various parts of the World but started out at the Botanical Gardens in Christchurch under Lawrie Metcalf . Robert has now reached retirement age but he does a few hours each week and does plant propagation at home under contract for us.
Michelle
Michelle turns her hand to most things. Dispatch, and Plant Propagation, Potting on and Pricking out are her main duties. Michelle has played a fundamental part in our ‘Minimal Spray’ program.
Slade
Slade, our Grandson, works after school and in the holidays. A keen lad he does all those jobs that just have to be done but no one else can find the time for. Slade is always keen to learn.
Rory
Is a new addition to the team. Rory is Scotties boy. There is always plenty for him to do a couple of nights a week after school and in the School Holidays
Casuals
During our busy times we bring in temporary staff to do the pricking out and other high labour content jobs.
